So, I didn’t always used to be this laid back…  And, if you know me at all, you probably just spit out your coffee laughing too hard, or you need to pick up your jaw off the floor.  (If coffee came out your nose, you totally have to tell me.)  Okay… so I might not exactly be the master of chill.  And yes; sometimes my disposition meters more towards high strung than it does Yogi master, but I have done a great deal of work in recent years to channel my inner calm, and have also learned to play to my strengths (apparently, schedules and spreadsheets aren’t soothing for everyone…?).  Granted, a lot of credit needs to be given to the anxiety medication I now take, but I am also proud of the many different skills and personal growth practices I have learned and incorporated into my life.

When I became a mother nine years ago, I dove headlong into a quest of self-improvement.  It’s funny how becoming an instant role model suddenly makes you keenly aware of just how unfit you are for the job.  I was determined to become the mom (and person) I wanted to be, instead of the stressed-out, hot mess that I was at the time.  So, I tackled my mental wellbeing head-on.  I read countless books on personal growth and happiness, worked on my coping skills, and infused various practices and helpful growth mindset techniques into my daily routine.

I’m still kind of a hot mess (I mean, aren’t we all?), but I’d like to think that I am now much closer than I was to becoming the best version of myself.  I continually strive to be a positive role model for my daughter, and I will always seek to further my personal development.  And hopefully all this internal work will help when my daughter hits the teenage years…  Yeah, I won’t hold my breath, ha.  Truly though, we should always be a work in progress.

If you are also trying to harness some calm in your life and tame some of those pesky inner monsters, I have a great cheat-sheet to get you started.  I am excited to share this guide, of sorts, that I’ve created.  It’s something I put together to help others on their quest for joy and a life well-lived.  I have found the practices in these pages to be essential to my own personal growth and happiness.

So, turn your “OMGs!!” into “Ommmms” (yeah, I’m that corny…), and grab a copy today.
