You can start by unpacking your bags at the Depot Lodge which is a charming bed and breakfast that offers all the comforts of home with a serene garden area next to Potts Creek. The lodge used to be a train depot in the 1900’s and has been lovingly renovated to accommodate guests. Also available for rent is the Foreman’s Cottage next door as well as other lodging for larger parties. If you’re looking for something really unique, you can even stay in a Norfolk & Western caboose that’s been transformed into a queen bedroom with its own bathroom and patio. This charming caboose is perfect for honeymoons and weekend getaways.
Right next door is the Paint Bank General Store and the Swinging Bridge Restaurant. Here you can grab a tasty meal as well as fun items and souvenirs to purchase. Also, a stone’s throw down the road is the buffalo farm where you can watch the massive beasts grazing in the fields.
In all, it’s a great place to visit, hike, fish, and unwind. Folks are friendly, the atmosphere is fun and wholesome, and a tasty meal served with a smile is never far away.
