leaf stuck in ice on lake

Mother Nature provided us with a gorgeous afternoon the other day with temperatures actually above forty degrees, so Olivia and I went for a walk at one of our favorite parks.  I admit that Little Beaver State Park doesn’t require me to “wander” very far, but I decided to make it a post for lack of something more exciting to write about.

The park has all the typical features: trails, playgrounds, picnic tables, etc.  However, its biggest attraction is the small lake around which the park is built.  In addition to providing an aesthetic appeal, it also offers opportunities for aquatic recreation.  In the warmer months visitors can rent paddleboats and canoes, and fishermen seem to enjoy casting out their lines no matter the season.  In fact, when it’s cold enough, and the lake is frozen solid, there are those that like to go ice fishing.

Even though I frequent this park often, I still appreciate the scenery every time.  I break out my snap and shoot camera on a regular basis (and not just for Olivia photo-ops), and I always find the dam intriguing no matter how many times I walk by it.
