Kindness ElvesThe holidays are (officially) upon us.  And I’d like to share a really great Fun Find that you just might want to add to your virtual shopping cart this Black Friday.

I stumbled upon the Kindness Elves quite by chance last year, and I’m so happy I did.  (Or perhaps Facebook uncannily knew I’d like them – I can’t remember.)  In any case, last December we started a fantastic new tradition.  The Kindness Elves came to visit our home for the 12 days of Christmas, and what a remarkable time my daughter and I had with them!  I simply can’t convey how much I love these adorable little elves and the entire concept.

In short, the Kindness Elves “come to visit” your child because they need help spreading kindness in the world.  They arrive in a fantastically fun little house, and depending on the package you purchase, they can come with an array of charming accessories to assist parents with the magic and charm of the whole process.  Usually beginning on the 13th of December, the Kindness Elves appear and start leaving little heart shaped notes with suggestions for an act of kindness that your kiddo can accomplish each day (there are also blank ones that parents can customize).  Your child can also submit their own ideas for acts of kindness by using the cute little mailbox on the house.  Then each morning, the Kindness Elves leave a postcard note congratulating your little one on what a great job they did the day before (in addition to a new heart note suggestion).  It’s wonderful.

This inspiring product was created by a mother in the UK who wanted a fun way to instill kindness, sharing, and gratitude during a season that tends to get folks rather preoccupied with commercialism, material possessions, greed, and so forth.  I personally love the idea.  There are various packages you can pick from, including one designed specifically for classrooms and teachers.  You also have the option to pick different outfit colors and skin tones for your elves.  And the best part is that the Kindness Elves can visit ANYTIME; it doesn’t have to be strictly a holiday tradition.  They even sell a Camp Kindness ebook that can be used for ideas during the summer months.

If you have a young child (or children), I highly recommend getting your own set of Kindness Elves and starting this new and meaningful tradition.  Not only is it easy and fun, you and your little one(s) will help make this world a kinder place – all while building great character and molding caring hearts.

I can’t say enough good things about the Kindness Elves!  Please check them out here.

PS: In case you’re wondering…  No; I do not receive any sort of monetary gain, or otherwise, for this post.  I just really love these little guys and I feel compelled to share with you.  🙂
