While driving by the sound in North Carolina, I spotted this boat chill’n out on the water. I immediately fell in love with the angles and knew instinctively it was a great viewpoint. I went back later that evening (for better lighting) and snagged this shot. I’m not sure the guy camping nearby appreciated my interrupting his sunset vibes, but since I was on the boardwalk (which technically wasn’t his rented space anyway), I decided to ignore his scowls, stopped trying to make cheerful conversation, and snapped away. It takes more than a grumpy dude to deter me.
I will do just about anything for a good shot, so long as it’s legal. I’ve traipsed through cow fields (and cow patties), climbed fences, wandered through some sketchy areas, perched precariously atop various high places, and so forth, all in pursuit of a great image. One could say I’m dedicated – or crazy, haha.
I prefer to think of it as a driving creative spirit. 😉
