These Snowballs Will Give You Warm Fuzzy Feelings

These tasty little treats are in my top three for favorite Christmas cookies. I’m not sure why, but my family only seems to make them at Christmas time. And I’m here to tell you, Santa scarfs these like nobody’s business. They also pair perfectly with coffee or tea for a delicious downtime treat. (Goodness knows we all need more of those!)

Another thing going for them is that they’re also fairly easy to make. I make no bones about it – I’m lazy when it comes to cheffing (or baking). Wanna give these cookies a try? I’m betting they become one of your new favorites too. If not, holler at me; I’ll dispose of them for you. 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup pecans

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar. Sift flour and salt together, add vanilla and nuts. Work with hands to form into small balls.  Cook at 300 for 25 minutes.  Roll in powdered sugar while warm, or shake in bag.

PS: The featured image is of a tiny little plate and two snowball cookies. I didn’t want you to think that was a regular plate and these were monster cookies, haha.
