This Photo Fun craft is a winner no matter how you roll it. Is it a decoration? A frame of sorts? It’s both! I think the best thing about it is that you can turn it to view a different image each day – or hour if you’re so inclined. It’s sure to be your new favorite décor item. Or, it also makes for a very sweet and personalized gift that is an absolute breeze to make, and your recipient is sure to love it. Not to mention, these look awesome artfully stacked together, so you could easily gift it more than once with a new set of pictures.
As always, you can use people pictures, artsy pictures, or whatever you dang well please, for this project. Let’s get started…
What You’ll Need:
- A wooden cube
- Sandpaper (if the cube is rough)
- Six photo prints (sized according to preference and the dimensions of your cube)
- Acrylic paint (I used Walmart’s brand of chalk paint)
- Paint brush
- Craft glue
- Mod Podge
- Wax paper (to cover your work space)
- Paper towels (for any messes)
Directions:
The first step is to make sure your cube is nice and smooth. If not, you may want to give it a quick buff with sandpaper and dust it off. Next, paint your cube whichever color you like. It will need at least two coats, so you’ll need ample time to let it dry. Once the paint job is complete, glue your square prints onto the sides of the cube, and let dry. After the glue has set, paint one or two thin layers of Mod Podge all over the cube, and again, let dry. The Mod Podge will help protect the images and give your project a cohesive look. Lastly, enjoy your handiwork, or gift it to a loved one. Easy-peasy, right?
PS: It actually proved difficult to find a wooden cube big enough in my small town’s craft and hardware stores. However, cube decorations are all the rage these days, so I bought a cheap one at TJ Maxx and painted over the design, haha.
