Ever have a completely crappy day and think to yourself, “I can’t wait till this day is over and I can go home and crack open… my coloring book!”??? Yeah, me neither, haha. I’ve cracked open a beer or a bottle of wine at the end of a long day, but I’ve never had the urge to pick up some colored pencils on my way home.
Well, according to science, and people much smarter than me, coloring is quite a healthy way to relax and decompress. They say that coloring actually induces the same state as meditating because it reduces restless thoughts. And Mayo Clinic even touts that this can also do all sorts of good things for your physical health as well. Turns out, there’s a reason that adult coloring books are all the rage. And here I thought there was a plethora of other grown-ass adults that were just giant kids at heart.
Maybe not so silly anymore? If you’re intrigued and possibly interested in this stress-reducing coloring craze, I’ve got a fun recommendation. One of my favorite authors, Jenny Lawson, has created an adult coloring book full of her artwork, snarky and inspiring commentary, and of course, cuss words. It brings a whole new meaning to colorful language, haha. You can find it online at her bookshop, or of course… on Amazon.
So, as crazy as it seems, pair that glass of wine with some Crayolas and color away. Just don’t spill your adult beverage on your adult coloring book, or you’re going to be even more stressed.
Need some stress relief like, YESTERDAY? Print this fun download and color yourself happy.

PS: As always, I don’t get any sort of kudos for my recommendations. I just happen to like them a lot.
