taco dip platter with chips around it

This dish is easy peazy to whip up and makes for perfect party food. In fact, it was recently requested that I bring this to a Friendsgiving get-together. (Apparently it was a hit last time I made it.) I happily obliged since it’s a cinch to make and I can’t even burn it.

So, if you’re looking for something to bring to your next family shindig, game day gathering, party, or any other festivity, you might want to give this a try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8oz) package of Philadelphia cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 (8oz) container of sour cream
  • 1 cup of salsa
  • 1 bag of shredded lettuce
  • 1 – 3 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 (8oz) bag of shredded cheese
  • 1 can of sliced black olives
  • 1 bag of tortilla chips (for dipping)

Directions:

First, combine cream cheese and sour cream together using a mixer. Then, spread this mixture in the bottom of a pan or platter with an edge. (If you need more, add sour cream but not more cream cheese.) Next, spread salsa over the layer of cream cheese and sour cream (you can add more to taste if you like). Then cover the salsa with lettuce and sprinkle chopped green onions on top (also to taste). Last, add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese (or Colby Jack) and scatter black olives on top.

PS: Thanks to my Aunt Madaliene who gave me this recipe, and who always brings this fam-favorite to parties (where it gets scarfed almost immediately).

🙂
