This image is a result of me playing with layers and artistic embellishments. It’s definitely one of my favorites. If you’ve fallen in love as well, I have a canvas of it for sale in my boutique. (Might I add, that it would look lovely hanging on your wall, or sitting on your bookshelf.) 😉 And if you’d like to learn how I created the canvas, you can check out that Photo Fun Project here.
On another note…
The title of this image seemed quite appropriate. However, I really feel that the whole “birds of a feather flock together” thing should be reconsidered for us humans. It’s awesome to have friends that we have a lot in common with (definitely hold on to them!), but it’s also important to broaden our social circles to include people who don’t necessarily look or think like we do. As I frequently tell my daughter, it’s wonderful that this world is made up of so many different people because if we were all the same, it would be such a boring place.
It’s actually human nature to seek out sameness. (It’s cozy.) But stepping outside the box (and maybe our comfort zones), could really be beneficial on many different levels. So, maybe make an extra effort to befriend folks of different ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, political opinions, religions, social status, etc. Having some diversity in our groups means that we can grow and expand as individuals. Obviously, make sure they’re good people. (No one wants to become besties with a psychopath – at least I hope…) It’s also necessary to be choosy about whom you welcome into your inner circle of friends since we’re greatly influenced by those we surround ourselves with on a regular basis. Which is why it’s important to find a tribe that both supports you, and challenges you to become the best version of yourself.
Just some random thoughts… (All of that from a bird picture, haha.) Wishing you beautiful and diverse friendships!
