If you know me well, you’ll probably find this post a bit funny, as I’m not big into cosmetics. I’m actually pretty certain that my 10-year-old has more makeup (to play with) than I’ve ever had in my life. Frankly, I think she’s even better at applying it than I am too. However, the lovely Instagram algorithm felt I needed to up my game (or face) and kept sending me ads for IL MAKIAGE products. (I’ll be honest, I don’t even know how to pronounce it.) And since I am currently working on a video for my Navigating North Journal™ (stay tuned!) I finally decided that perhaps it couldn’t hurt to try it out… (Put your best face forward, right?)
Obviously, I ended up loving the products I purchased, or I wouldn’t be sharing them with you as a Fun Find. From one friend to another (because I am so not a beauty influencer), I was actually pretty blown away. I really liked the Power Polish Exfoliator, and could see a difference in my skin practically right away. I also loved that it’s not a mask (like I originally thought) and only takes 30 seconds once or twice a week. That’s certainly a doable step in my daily routine!
And while I don’t wear makeup every day, I also took advantage of their “try before you buy” offer for their popular flawless foundation, Woke Up Like This, that boasts 50 shades for a perfect match for all skin tones. I admit, I was a bit skeptical… But I took the quiz and low and behold, it was in fact, a perfect match. (By the way, if you do the quiz, I recommend doing it in front of your bathroom mirror.) Ah, the wonders of technology! If I – someone who is ridiculously clueless when it comes to makeup – can manage to take the quiz and wind up with the perfect match for my skin tone, I’m pretty sure anyone can do it. If you like to wear foundation, I highly recommend it.
It’s safe to say that if you’re into the whole beauty/makeup scene, you’re bound to love this company. And even if you’re not, you may still want to check them out for the skin care line. They have a ton of products, and I can personally vouch that the ones I’ve used are very high-quality.
Some things to note… You can only get their products online, but they offer a 100% free and easy exchange/return policy. Also, if you sign up for the subscription option (that you can cancel or reschedule at any time), they have free gifts! Woohoo…!
And most importantly, always remember that you are beautiful with, or without, makeup! 😉
