Every year autumn blows in; the trees blush and soon shower us with vibrant, brittle confetti. The air is thick with crisp aromas and fond memories of years past. Fall is my absolute favorite season. I love the chill it brings that motivates us to snuggle up in warm clothing and to drink hot cocoa. This is the time of year when kindred spirits gear up for Halloween parties and trick-or-treating while they don their costumes of eccentric characters, the young at heart carve pumpkins and crazy eyed jack-o-lanterns, and loved ones gather together for Thanksgiving feasts and count their blessings. There’s simply nothing else like fall.
This particular season is truly spectacular in West Virginia. The trees transform into vivid, crispy bouquets of color that I must say make the mountains simply breathtaking. Not to mention, the weather is perfect for hikes and outdoor activities. October is also the most popular month for fall festivities. Every weekend you can find any number of events to attend and enjoy; so many in fact, that it just seems unfair that there are only four Saturdays in the month.
For some reason, autumn reminds me of home and the chilly air warms my heart every year. I hope that you are able to enjoy this incredible season outdoors and with your families.
