I thought I would share one of my family favorites this time. The recipe is attributed to my grandmother and it is quite popular among all my relatives. Below is the recipe; happy baking! I hope you have fun making them and even more fun sharing them with others.
Terrific Toffee Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cup flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 10 oz Nestles chocolate bar (topping)
- 1 cup chopped pecans (topping)
Directions:
Mix butter, brown sugar, flour, egg yolk, and vanilla. Spread mixture with hands in an un-greased pan (with a lip). Bake at 350 for 15 – 20 minutes. Melt two 10oz. Nestles chocolate bars (use one semi-sweet bar if desired); spread on top of cooked mixture. Sprinkle with chopped pecans. Wait to cool and cut with sharp knife.
