I love this Fun Find because it makes for an amazingly thoughtful gift, it’s perfect for any occasion, and it’s practically a guarantee that the recipient is going to love it. That’s a tall order for some paper and a glass jar, right? Trust me… This one tugs on the heartstrings.
So, what is this incredible gift-giving idea? Essentially, it’s a jar full of kind and uplifting little notes that you write to the recipient. (Very similar to the Kindness Jar, but perhaps a bit more sophisticated.) If you’re ready to make someone’s day (or year), I have two options for this fun find, or you can simply go rouge and make your own (though I can attest to the difficulties of finding cute tiny cards with envelopes…).
The first option is to purchase a jar of Kind Notes (with, or without, prewritten messages). Years ago, I gave my grandma a jar of Kind Notes, with messages that I wrote myself. I can say quite confidently that this was the most treasured gift I ever gave her. I know this because she thanked me every single time I talked to her (for months). And she raved about it to my parents as well. It was quite literally the perfect gift for her since we lived so far apart, and she loved opening the little notes daily (even after she’d read them all). It also went splendidly with a tradition that I used to do whenever I’d visit her: each time before I’d leave, I would hide little notes that said, “I love you” all over her house. I got the idea from my grandfather, who used to do the same thing before he passed away 30 some years ago.

Again, I can vouch that it’s a proven hit, as my cousin (who lives in another country) gave this same gift to her mother containing thoughtful little messages. My Aunt was positively thrilled with this present, which she proudly showed me as she gushed about all the cute and sweet cards.
This Fun Find is sure to bring smiles (and maybe even happy tears) to anyone you give it to. And please know that you don’t have to live far away from someone for this gift to be truly appreciated. I assure you, no matter how near or far away the recipient lives, they will treasure this humble little jar of notes – because it’s all about the heartfelt messages you write within.
Helpful Tip: Make a list of your messages before you write them on the note cards so that you can proofread, and make sure there aren’t any duplicates. Also, the gift will mean much more if you make them personal, sweet, and uplifting. Remember, this is a gift from the heart.
PS: If you adore this idea and want to make one for yourself, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! You could write positive affirmations or little notes to yourself.
