Very seldom does anyone threaten me with a good time and get away with it… My parents recently asked if Olivia and I would like to join them for a stay in a cozy, three-bedroom cottage on the lake at Stonewall Resort. And I believe my response was, “heck yeah!” Olivia and I happily obliged, and were more than a little impressed with our accommodations. This so-called two-story “cottage” was probably bigger than my house, had three spacious bedrooms, including large office areas, and three and a half bathrooms! It also had a gorgeous view of the lake, which was so close you could probably fish off the beautiful, luxurious back porch. We had a blast while there and were all ready to move in full-time.
If you’ve never been before, Stonewall Resort is the perfect vacation spot for locals and tourists alike. (I fall in the “local” category, I suppose, since it’s in West Virginia.) In the past, I’ve stayed in a room at the resort, once at the camp ground, and now in one of their new, swanky cottages. I enjoyed each of my stays there and recommend it for anyone looking for a weekend getaway, or longer. This place has it all. Of course, there are the golf courses, the spa, the lake with various activities, the pool, hiking trails, and restaurants. But they also have fun activities like a nightly bonfire with s’more kits, and even Taco Tuesday boat rides. Bring on the margaritas!
If you’re looking for someplace to plan your next trip, check it out. And don’t forget to explore the surrounding areas too, like all the wineries (seriously, if you wanna sample them all, there’s no judgment), or my favorite – the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. They have awesome tours (and yes; they let you leave, haha).
If you decide to go, or if you’ve already been, let me know how you liked your stay!
